Bainbridge Island holds a special place in my heart as that is where I grew up and where my parents still live. Any time I have the opportunity to work on the Island I’m thrilled! Over the past few year’s we’ve been working at IslandWood more and more and while it’s not your typical wedding venue- the property is gorgeous, the staff extremely kind and helpful, the food is amazing and weddings there are so laid back, personal and filled with time spent with loved ones (because all of your guests get to stay on property for the entire weekend, all meals included!). Emma Rose and Joe’s July wedding was all those things.

We did final coordination planning for them and worked with their vendor team to put on a playful wedding in the woods. The wedding was officiated by Joe’s Sister and Emma Rose’s brother, who added funny antidotes about their siblings that only brothers and sisters can share! After the ceremony guests enjoyed cocktail hour al fresco with Pacific Northwest dishes, lawn games and live music. Each guests name was hand written on an oyster shell to act as their escort card and highlight the local wildlife. The most entertaining part of the evening was the dance caller that Joe and Emma Rose had flow up from California to lead line-dancing, an activity that the couple enjoys back home. It certainly got everyone on the dance floor!
