This colorful Chehalis wedding put a fun twist on the rustic barn wedding! Ben + Amaia’s August wedding took place at Red Barn Studios, but their food inspired color palette replaced the rustic setting with a fun, bright, and modern feel. Imagine coral, peach, salmon, tomato, raspberry, strawberry, paprika, cayenne, colors you can almost taste!
The bride described their day perfectly: “We really only had one priority: making sure that the wedding be a complete experience that reflected us – our personalities, interests, and passions. I wanted to incorporate my unabashed love of orange and pink and landed on a “food plaette” incorporating it anywhere we could. The decor reflected Ben’s love of games with Scrabble tile table numbers, a Jenga guest book, and Trivial Pursuit cards on the tables to help break the ice, plus washers and bocce ball during cocktail hour.”
To complete the look Amaia requested an Anthropologie-esque tissue backdrop behind the sweetheart table. We grabbed all the tissue puffs their families had worked hard to make and ran with her idea, creating the fun backdrop you see above. As the night went on guests even grabbed some and decorated themselves with tissue puffs!
Ben + Amaia both live in Washington DC, but wanted to get married here in their home state so they were able to utilize the power of social media to include those who were not able to attend their wedding. Using #benjamaia guests were able to tag photos online and then actually print them at the reception using an Instagram printer from Photoboxx. After printing, the photos were then hung up for all to enjoy!
What a neat way to commemorate your wedding both online and in-person!
Tying in nicely to the barn setting, was the bride and groom’s choice of caterer, Skillet Street Food. Not only was the food delicious and fun, but it was cooked and partially served from an awesome Airstream, which the bride and groom were pretty excited about. All these amazing and photos (and more) are now up in our gallery and were taken by the very talented Kendra at Kendra Joy Photography. This wedding turned out so beautiful and we are grateful and excited that it is being featured today on Reverie Gallery.
Cheers to Ben + Amaia!
