A couple weeks ago we had the amazing opportunity to be a part of Seattle Met Bride and Groom’s First Look event at the wonderful Fremont Foundry! The event shocased the brand new summer issue of the magazine and was designed for the 300+ guests to truly see the magazine come to life by Seattle wedding vendors. Vendors were asked to create mock-ups of varying aspects of a wedding so guests could get a tangible feel for what was featured in the magazine. The best of the best in the industry were there and we were so honored to be a part of it.
We were asked to create a mock ceremony space. Our inspiriation came from two new trends on the rise – the combination of pastels and neon, and using geometric shapes.
The show stopper of our ceremony space was this 2-in-1 backdrop runner that we designed and created from scratch. We knew we wanted to create a high-impact backdrop that turned into an aisle runner.
We used this picture of a cake as our inspiration (which the ladies at Baked Custom Cakes actually recreated wonderfully, putting their own delicious spin on it, see more below) and designed our own triangle pattern.

We had a great time coloring graph paper, cutting out triangles, and assembling this 5′ wide and nearly 20′ long backdrop runner. We love how the pastel and neon colors play off each other and the design draws your gaze to the altar area, right where the bride and groom would be standing.
If you are interested in your own custom backdrop or aisle runner please visit our contact page and we can discuss options to create you the perfect one for your wedding day!
Keeping with the modern look, we used these great ghost chairs from ABC Special Event Rentals by CORT. You can dress them up in so many ways, the possibilities with these chairs are endless!
Graphic designer Emily Carlson pulled the whole look together with these custom made programs. We just love how they turned out!

The event was a blast and huge success! Not only was it a great chance to connect with our favorite vendors, but it was great to meet some great new people as well who we look forward to working with in the future. For more information about the event you can click here or check out other photos from the event here. Also, be sure to grab a copy of the latest Seattle Met Bride and Groom which is on newstands now, it is jam packed with inspiration!
A big thank you to everyone at Seattle Met Bride and Groom and to Keirah at the Fremont Foundry for having us! Can’t wait till next year!
