Happy New Year Friends! Now that the Christmas decorations have been tucked away, the bottles of champagne have been emptied, and the house is finally back in order, I’m refreshed and ready to hit the ground running. I am SO excited for 2015 and all that we have planned, and looking forward to the surprises and adventures the year ahead holds.

I don’t usually make New Years Resolutions (because I can’t seem to keep them), but I did take a moment to jot down a few goals and aspirations for the year that I wanted to share with you. I share my heart with you not to crowd the internet waves with more personal messages, but to be genuine, authentic, and real. I also think accountability is key.

So for what it’s worth, here are my goals for 2015 for both my business and for me personally.

Learn :: I’d like to take a few classes next year to learn new skills, as well as improve existing ones. I’d like to take a flower arranging class.

I’m currently looking into Kelly’s Team Flower Workshop

Or Erin’s June Floral Intensive Class

Or Sarah’s Bouquet, Boutonniere and Halo class

Love them all, so hard to choose!. I’d also like to learn Illustrator and I’m looking forward to learning from Emily with her Simplified Graphic Design Class.

I’d also like to read more books, if you have any great suggestions, please pass them my way!

Explore :: There is a big’ol  world out there and a TON of it that I have yet to see and experience. I’m looking forward to a long vacation with my beloved next Fall (more to come throughout the year).

Home Improvements :: New kitchen and an office makeover. We’re getting ready to remodel our kitchen this winter and I know that the construction, dust, and chaos are going to get to me (I’m a fairly particular person and like things just so). It will also be odd to not entertain for a few months, something we love to do. That being said, I’m looking forward to designing and building a beautiful new kitchen, I’ll be sure to post lots of photos along the way (follow me @jenleslieevents).

Think grey subway tile, farm sink, white cupboards and granite countertops. Looking to add lots of light and a few rustic touches.

I’m also looking forward to refreshing my office and giving it a JLE look and feel (I think it’s time to part with my 12 year old IKEA desk).

Faith :: I’d like to get more plugged into my church as well!

Looking forward to all that 2015 has in store, especially designing memorable experiences for our clients. It’s gonna be a good one!
