This is a story about a Southern boy and Pacific Northwest girl who got together to host a Southern Wedding in the Pacific Northwest at DeLille Cellars in Woodinville, WA. In true Southern fashion they opted for a cocktail-style reception, a live band, a small handful of traditional moments, and yet the whole event and decor had a relaxed elegance to pair with west coast vibes.
Rachel and Patton came to me with a vision of a glowing reception – cafe lights, candles everywhere, lights in the trees, and a neutral color palette of creams and blush with gold accents. We designed the reception to promote conversation, whether that was our lounge that acted as the focal point under the tent, or the long communal tables. We used lots of greenery, blush garden roses, dahlias, scabiosa pods, silver dollar and spiral eucalyptus, lisiantus and blackberries on the vine.
The groom’s family is very musically talented, so we integrated moments throughout the day for each person to contribute – the groom’s sister sang during the ceremony, and the groom and best man rocked out with the band during one of their sets later in the evening. The bride was escorted in spirit by her brother Andrew, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the meadow.
Working with these two was one of my highlights of the 2018 season, miss you both!
