Laura and Dan were an amazing couple to work with in creating their modern summer wedding at Washington Athletic Club!  At our initial wedding consult, Laura knew exactly what she wanted and even had a power point presentation of her vision.  A day-of coordinator’s dream!

It was important to Laura and Dan to recognize and honor other people’s marriages.  They were able to do this by having old wedding photos displayed at their welcome table which many enjoyed looking at.  They also did an anniversary dance where they start eliminating the standing or dancing couples by the number of years they have been married.  By the end, they had 2 couples left who had been married over 40 years!

Laura and Dan’s wedding demonstrated why we carry a kit ready for wedding emergencies!  We used our sewing kit to sew a groomsmen’s button back on after it popped off his tux before the ceremony.  Laura’s absolutely stunning dress wouldn’t bustle so safety pins from the kit came to the rescue. A stain on a bridesmaid’s pink dress required a tide to go pen be put to use.  Our personal steamers were brought in to freshen up the groomsmen’s tuxes and get them ceremony ready.  Band-Aids for bridesmaids, mints for groomsmen, you name it and we probably used it!

Troy from 206 Events gave great tips to the entire wedding party on their grand entrance.  It left them all feeling confident knowing where to be and when.  Often these entrances have the wedding party feeling unsure.  Swank Chair Covers really TRANSFORMED the room when they covered Washington Athletic Club’s brown chairs with white covers.  It made the room white and bright which was the exact look the couple wanted.
